Greetings from Fr. Dave!
Okay, good news and ???? news: Summer has officially begun, but that means from now on the days are going to start getting shorter! We are on the downward slip to WINTER!
Sorry I had to bring that to your attention, but you just NEED to know!
I announced last weekend that we have hired our new principal. Brenda Martinek will begin here in July and brings with her 19 years experience as an educator, both as a teacher as an administrator. Our interviewing committee unanimously chose her over the other candidates. Her skills, experience, personality and passion will serve our school exceptionally well. Brenda and her husband have 4 children, two of whom go to St. John Fisher School, and two go to Jesuit. They were all at the 9:30 mass last weekend and visited with quite a lot of folks. Later this summer I will officially introduce her to you.
Last weekend at the 11:15 mass we presented an appreciation plaque to the Mallari family for their exceptional service to our parish over the years. Many of you know Franz, Monette and their children, and know how dedicated they are to so many different events here at Holy Trinity. Our Pastoral Council wished to recognize them for “exceptional leadership and volunteer service to our parish”. Thank you and God bless you!
With school out for the summer we are commencing immediately on our summer maintenance projects, beginning with parking lot work this week. Unless we get delayed, the Park Way entrance to our facilities will be closed off Monday through Friday. Good news to those of you who HATE our speed bumps: they will soon be gone! We have gotten so many complaints about dentures being lost going over them, that we have finally taken action! Major projects scheduled for the facility include the elevator, carpet on the upper floor of the school, rubber stair treatment for the stairs going to the cafeteria, and new furnace in the school Math building.
This week 25th anniversary celebrations were held for Roland and Jane David and for Franz and Monette Mallari. (double wedding ceremony was held 25 years ago!) Congratulations.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Apricinio (Sen) Aquino on Wednesday, June 25 at 4:00pm. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. |
