I wish to thank all of you for all your kind words of support and congratulations on the occasion of my 25th anniversary last week. It really is very humbling. I am deeply grateful to God for his call and his ongoing sustenance, and I am deeply grateful to all the people with whom I have the privilege of serving! We are in this together. Your prayers, your faith, your dedication, all inspire me to keep at it. Please do pray for me and for all our priests, as we need it! Special thanks to those who put on the lovely reception after the 11:15 mass; I am very grateful for your time, dedication, affection, and hard work. As for the words spoken by Fr. John Kerns………I assure you he and I will be having a serious sit-down this week so I can straighten him out!!! And I thought he was my FRIEND????!!!
Our school year is quickly winding to an end! Graduation for our 8th graders is this Tuesday, and the last day of school is on Friday. Yippee! It’s been a good year and we have so much to be grateful for. At our school mass this past week we honored Diane Cronin our principal for her 10 years of dedicated service to our school. She will be assuming new responsibilities as principal of Cathedral School beginning July 1. Blessings to you Diane and thanks for all you have done for our school! Our Search Committee has been interviewing potential candidates for her replacement and hopes to be able to announce her successor in the next few days!
At our 9:30am mass this weekend we are offering our thanks and our blessing to our many volunteers who have helped out every week with our education programs from preschool to children’s liturgy to religious education classes to middle and high school youth programs. Thank you so very much for your service to our community!!!
Please look at the insert describing some of the changes we will be making in youth ministry. This parish has had a long commitment to our youth and we wish to continue and expand it! We have two different youth programs, one for our Middle School youth, and one for our High School students. Both include a combination of social, service, faith formation, worship, and fun activities. Kristin Wells will now be coordinating both programs and will continue to rely on many of our fine volunteers to assist. Continue to watch this bulletin for ongoing details, and also the new bulletin board in the Narthex dedicated to our youth ministry.
This week we baptized Michaela Asuncion, Zachary Franco, Kiari Tzeo, Elizabeth Howarth, and Damiana Williams. Congratulations!
Funeral services were held for Adaline Betzer. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. |
