“To Teach as Jesus Taught”

Pre-School

Children, three, four and five years old, become aware of the gifts God has given to them.  They discover God’s presence in their lives, through Bible stories, activities, crafts, music, games, and art. They learn to express their faith through prayer experiences that are a sign of their joy in being part of the Catholic community.  This program is held during the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

The Elementary Program

The Elementary Program welcomes children in grades kindergarten through five.  It is designed to deepen and expand the young person’s life in faith.  The students grow in their experience and reverence for the Sacred Scriptures and the Church’s teachings.  They will have meaningful participation in the communal, sacramental, and liturgical life of the Church.  They will have an appreciation of the saints who influenced our history and traditions and those who are transforming our lives today.  This program tries to prepare them to proclaim and live their faith.  This program is held from 10:45 to 12:00 noon on Sunday mornings.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word calls all first through third graders to participate in that part of the Mass where the Sunday Scriptures are read.  It seeks to make the Liturgy of the Word understandable for children and helps to deepen their reverence and appreciation for the Mass.  The children are called to process together from the Church to the Fireside Room after the Opening Prayer and return to the Church following the Prayers of the Faithful.  This excellent program will resume in October.

Sacramental Preparation (Reconciliation & Eucharist)

Preparation for children in second grade and older for Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Sessions are held in the fall for first Reconciliation and in the spring for first Eucharist. Registration is held the last two weekends in September.

Baptism and Preparation for Reconciliation & Eucharist (RCIC)

This program is to welcome children, eight and older, who are interested in becoming Catholic (but are not baptized).  The children will participate in the regular Faith Formation classes on Sunday mornings at 10:45 and will also have other classes to prepare them for Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist. Parents, family, godparents, peer group and parish are important to the journey.  It connects the children with God’s love and joins them to God’s people.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is our summer gift to the children.  We join the age groups for a week of immersion in God’s story.  This is an exciting, hands-on week, with a different theme each year.  Every day is packed with activities designed to welcome children into God’s family.  Children will experience lively worship, kid friendly Bible stories, cool games, videos, crafts, snacks, songs, and much more!
