Did you notice the rose colored vestments this weekend at Mass? The Fourth Sunday in Lent is marked at it’s halfway point to Easter. We know what the ending point will be, but not yet! It’s time to continue what we started as Lent began.
 
Today we hear the Gospel story of the Prodigal son. There is so much going on in this parable, and we relate to it because it is a story we know without reading it. Or do we? So first, read it! Then pray with this beautiful story and allow it to speak to you.


As we do this, I suggest we spend some time considering the following questions and how they connect with our own lives:
 

• Why does Jesus tells this story?

• Who are the three main characters in the parable?

• Which of the sons do you most relate to? Why?

• What words, actions, and phrases jump out at you?

• What about this story are you grateful for?

• What about this story  that you are sorry about?

• What is Jesus calling you to do this Laetare weekend?
