50 Days of Easter, Part 2: How is it going so far? If you recall, I asked a similar question at the start of Lent. In Lent, we take on certain actions to keep the season, and along the way we evaluate how we're doing. Shouldn't that also be true for the Easter Season as well?
So what do we do in the Easter season? Essentially, the Easter season allows us to celebrate Jesus Christ raised from the dead! So are we living like we know this?
That is for each of us to decide, but I will speak personally with a possible perspective for each of us to consider. For 50 days, at Mass at least, we are New Testament people.
Mass centers around the Good News! This is our faith. We know how the story of Christ's earthly life ended, and it should give us great hope to inspire us to live a Christian Life.
Consider the Christians around the world where it is dangerous to
celebrate and profess the good news we take for granted. Shouldn't we celebrate the freedom to live our faith and to be first responders of hope as Father Dave suggested at our Easter Masses? Have we forgotten already?
May God inspire us to keep Easter alive in our hearts so we can share it with the world! +
