Our Call to Holiness: Really? Even me? God help me...which is exactly the point! It absolutely takes God’s help and grace to help us to become holy.
 
Remember Fr. Dave’s homework and the words of St. Ignatius? We are given where this call comes from. “We came from God, We belong to God, Our destiny is God.” The call to holiness comes directly from the source of holiness itself: Jesus. And how do we become holy? It takes a lifetime of practice and living our faith.
 
Ultimately, it is from allowing God’s grace to shape and form us, assisted by prayer and the sacraments, so we can become what God calls all of us to be. We have an advocate—the Holy Spirit!
 

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love only what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me so, O Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. Amen.
