Let’s pretend...that we are one of the first followers of Jesus, the first Christians.
We are in hiding and afraid after Jesus’ brutal crucifixion and death, believing that it’s all over, but members of our group venture out. Soon, we hear astonishing news:
“He is Risen!”
In the irony we find ourselves in now being sheltered against a virus as we wait for things to lift, let’s venture out as Peter, Mary, John, and the brave and faithful did in Jesus’ time, to profess what we believe and serve those we can. I have a small way that you can help...become a
HT Prayer Warrior.
THE FIRST THING WE SHOULD DO FOR ONE ANOTHER IS PRAY. Not so we can remain inert, but so we recognize that God has us covered, so we recognize and trust that it works!
We have an email prayer list in the parish called
HT Prayers. Especially now during these difficult days, it has become a way for us to embrace and care for
our Seniors and sheltered-in-place Homebound. We have a list that we are praying for and mailing to as a way to keep these good people connected, especially as many are not online. Our
Homebound Ministers are doing phone visits to make sure they are well and to pray with them. Then we are gathering their prayer requests, and these are added to our prayer list, and faithful people like you and me pray for them.
I would love to see our group of
Pray’ers explode to include everyone in the parish. Then all can meet and pray for those who especially need our care and prayers.
It's easy to sign-up!
We currently have 55 individuals on our mailing and call list. Do you know someone who should be on our list?
Email me with their
name, phone number, and address, and we will reach out to them and get them added to our list and get them connected.
May we wait in joyful hope for the glorious day when we can gather together in our church, welcome fully our newest Catholics to our ranks, and celebrate the joy of being a Catholic follower of Jesus Christ! May that day be soon!
