We are in Week 2 of our fall homily series: Through the Eyes of Jesus. We have chosen a number of themes that have been identified as areas that are universally dealt with in our ordinary daily lives — examining them “through the eyes of Jesus”.
Last week, I spoke about the use of our money; this week, Brett is talking about relationships; next week, Fr. Hans will be speaking about fear. In each of these we will be examining these themes, seeking to find the ways we can honor Jesus plan.
I used an image last week that pertains to all of these: “There is nothing we can do or not do that will move the dial of God’s love for us one bit; it is always set on the highest possible setting. What we can do is seek to align ourselves with God’s longing for us to live our lives in the fullest, most joyful and generous way.” Folks, this is what we are about — not earning God’s love or favor which we already have TOTALLY, but seeking to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit more fully.
Congratulations and blessings to Abram Filippo, Kaira Oyamot, Carl Reznick, and Slater Squires, who were baptized last week! Congratulations also to David Lynch, who was baptized and confirmed in preparation for his upcoming wedding. God bless him and continue to guide him on his faith journey and his soon-to-be marriage.
