So, is spring coming? Most people I talk to are glad that we missed a lot of the forecasted snow/ice. School kids are not so happy though. As I write this early in the week, it sounds like winter is not ready to give up yet.
Remember, regardless of the weather, we will have our regularly scheduled weekend and daily Masses, and remember, the parking lot will not be plowed so PLEASE stay home unless you are really hardy and bounce easily!
Congratulations to our students and adults who were confirmed this weekend. May the Holy Spirit continue to transform your lives and use you to make a wonderful difference in this world! We need you.
I wrote last weekend about a parishioner from the Philippines whose home parish has a very active student band program. They are in urgent need of instruments and I am putting out the plea for any of you who have instruments stored away in the closet not being used to consider bringing them here to church so we can help out. Clarinets, saxophones, flutes, trumpets, and trombones are all needed. Let’s see if we can help them “make a joyful noise to the Lord”!
The annual Archdiocesan Catholic Appeal is coming up. I received my letter and pledge card in the mail this week. As you have heard before, these are funds that supply services beyond the immediate scope of Holy Trinity — including seminarian training, retirement, campus ministry, prison ministry, and the operation of the Archdiocese. We have always met our parish goal and our success is very simple: we ask each of our parishioners to do something towards this. Holy Trinity is asked to pledge $130,500 this year. Please join me in doing our part.
Congratulations and blessings to Amiyah Cruz, Emmanuel Jimenez, and Dominic Pangelinan III, who were baptized this weekend!
