Here goes for a few updates for you as summer moves forward.
First, our summer projects are progressing on schedule. Commercial stoves in the cafeteria have been replaced; four classrooms have been painted; restrooms have new sinks, counters, and paint; and the upstairs hallway is getting brightened up with ceiling paint and new light fixtures.
Second, the Walker Road widening, which will require the demolition of our offices, is pretty stagnant right now. We are still awaiting the appraisal figures from the county, after which our own appraisal will be done, followed by negotiating a fair settlement amount. Originally this was forecast to be done by now, but delays seem to be the name of this game! We’ll keep you posted.
Finally, an update on James and Justin, our two parish seminarians. James is doing his summer internship at St. Ann in Grants Pass. He and I have communicated back and forth regularly, and he is having a good
summer and likes being out of the Portland Metro area.
Justin has been at Creighton University for a required summer session on spirituality prior to his departure for Rome at the end of the month. He will be here this coming weekend (July 20
th) for a send-off blessing at our 5:30pm Mass.
And Dustin, the seminarian interning here this summer, is doing a great job. See his notice in next weekend’s bulletin for his latest offer to enjoy time with you!
Reminder to all youth who are musically oriented: Ken and Mark are hosting a free workshop this weekend after the 11:15am Mass to help integrate more of our young folks into our music ministry. You will be welcomed with open arms and hearts!
Last week, funeral services were held for Eric Santos. Funeral services are scheduled for Marquita Johnson on Monday, July 22
nd, at 11:00am. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
