I hope you all had a fine Thanksgiving! We are so blessed in so many ways and I guess it is just natural that we take a lot of stuff for granted. May we be mindful of our blessings, share them generously, and honor God in gratitude!
This weekend, we finish out the church liturgical year with the Feast of Christ the King, and then go into Advent. There is a pattern that cycles and deepens within our world in our individual lives — drawing us ultimately into full union with God. Acknowledging Jesus as Lord of Lords and King of Kings is right in the center of that cycle. Nothing and no one can fill the center of our lives except him!
When we invite him into our lives — into every part of our lives, including the broken parts, the confused parts, the rebellious parts — he comes! And, he comes with great warmth, solace, and eagerness to liberate us from anything that keeps us from living fully and deeply. And, the Good News remains, that he will never ever let go of us — or of our loved ones. What a blessing that is!
Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All is passing; God does not change. Patience attains to everything. One who holds onto God Lacks nothing. God alone is enough! —St. Teresa of Avila
Congratulations and blessings to Kateri Schaal, Thérése Schaal, and Luca Tarascio, who were baptized this weekend!
Funeral services were held this weekend for Gregory Poulin. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
