Advent 2018 is here. We are so blessed to have this season that deliberately helps us focus on the deeper meaning of the weeks leading up to Christmas.
In the midst of shopping, decorating, parties, and all the activity of this season, Advent presents some moments of quiet, reflection, introspection, and expectation. Brett and I have often commented that the flavor of Advent is so well experienced at our 5:30 evening Mass — with the darkness outside and the
candles and simple decorations inside. Sunday mornings can do the same if we get our usual dark, cold, rather dreary weather! Take a look at the schedule below for upcoming events (it will also be printed in the back of the bulletin all month long):
December 8th — Immaculate Conception Mass at 9:00am in the church
December 8th — Advent Reconciliation Service at 4:00pm in the church
December 11th — School Christmas Program at 6:00pm in the church
December 24th — Christmas Eve Masses at 3:00pm, 5:00pm, and 9:00pm
December 25th — Christmas Day Mass at 9:00am
January 1st — New Year’s Day Mass at 9:00am
Immaculate Conception Holy Day is this week on Saturday (the 8th). We will have just one Mass, at 9:00am. I invite you to come and join with our community in honoring this wonderful way in which God pre-planned
our salvation through Mary’s preparation from the very moment of her conception! And, please note, that our Reconciliation Service is the same day at 4:00pm. Four priests will be here to hear individual confessions after a brief reflection and examination of conscience.
Congratulations and blessings to Kate Anderson, Samantha Nguyen, Parker Saar, and Marcus San Nicolas, who were baptized this weekend!
