Middle of the month and onward we go. I don’t have any new news to report from the parish. We will continue to record and post our weekend Mass and will continue our daily reflections and the Sunday Coffee and Broccoli. Thanks for tuning in!
I am grateful for our school and parish staff and the ways they are adapting. And, I am sure grateful for those who are helping us with technology. This whole event would be even harder to cope with if we didn’t have such easy access to ways of connecting.
Every two weeks all our Archdiocesan clergy has a Zoom meeting with the Archbishop for updates. In our meeting this week, he too expressed his gratitude for the way all of you are staying connected. We are preparing for the gradual removal of restrictions on gatherings, which will be especially challenging in large parishes like ours. As you know, we do not have any firm direction yet from Governor Brown, but I can assure you that our church leaders are in communication with her team, working on a safe and appropriate plan.
In the meantime, I encourage all of you to continue to be wide open to new ways the Holy Spirit is leading each of us personally in the priorities we make and live by. Please resist getting stuck on backward thinking — just wanting the “good old days back”. That’s not going to happen, and even more importantly, the Holy Spirit is eager to lead us daily in ways the Resurrection of Jesus is transforming and making all things new! Trust that, and live accordingly.
