Did you take home a Thanksgiving grocery bag and menu? If so, thank you!
This is the weekend we need all of them returned as next week we begin building the boxes that will go to 200 families in order for them to enjoy a feast on Thanksgiving. As always, thanks for your help in making this happen!
It is also not too late to make a donation to help pay for the turkeys that will go with these grocery items that you brought. A $25 donation will cover the cost of the turkey with any remaining funds used to help purchase needed items at the Food Closet throughout the year.
There are three easy ways to donate:
Ø Place cash or a check in an envelope marked “Thanksgiving” and put it in the regular weekend collection.
Ø Take cash, check or credit card to the Information Desk in the Narthex. They will insure the donations are directed to our Thanksgiving drive.
Ø For an online donation, simply go to h-t.org and look for the “donate” button. Call the Parish Office with any questions regarding this option.
As always, thank you for helping others enjoy this Thanksgiving holiday!
A few articles ago I mentioned the shortened Christmas shopping season and that the Giving Tree would be going up a week earlier than usual. Guess what?! That weekend is next weekend! Yikes!!! The Giving Tree tag maker has been extra busy this year, but assures me all will be ready to go. So, even before we have all of the turkeys distributed the Giving Tree will be up and covered with tags listing the many requests. This year we will again be working with the Portland Veterans Administration, the local Veterans and Family Resource Center, the Women’s Life Change Center, Rose Haven and several groups within the Beaverton School District. There will also be tags for homeless teens, gas cards and more. Each year your incredible generosity demonstrates what a caring community Holy Trinity is. Thank you all for showing the love of Jesus!
