Brett’s back, James is gone, Ally (Pastoral Apprentice from Notre Dame) arrives this week, and teachers are trickling back in. Summer is winding down and full scale planning for the school year is underway.
James stated his thanks last weekend at the end of each of our Masses. I want to add my thanks to you for the warm welcome you gave him and for the experience you gave him this summer at Holy Trinity. He has learned a lot and has a clearer picture of what he is preparing for as he goes back to the seminary. Please remember him and Justin in your prayers as they continue the process of formation and education. It’s a long road; they each have another 6 years of graduate school to go, so our prayer support and words of encouragement are urgently needed.
This time of year, we have all kinds of opportunities for folks to get more involved in the parish, and through that get more connected to others. Take a look at these possibilities:
Kid Zone This is our worship experience for our young ones, ages 18 months to 4 years, during the 9:30am and 11:15am Masses. We need additional teen and adult volunteers to serve one weekend (or more if you wish) a month. Contact Cathie Scott at 503.315.5266 or [email protected].
Youth Ministry Our middle and high school students meet Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm, led by Susan Finch and Fr. Hans. Additional adult volunteers allow more flexibility for the activities planned each week. Contact Susan at 503.807.4543 or [email protected].
Faith Café Our parish serves a Sunday evening meal at Bethel Congregational Church every 7th week (we rotate with six other churches). We need folks who will assist with cooking, serving, and cleaning up that evening. Contact Al Schmitt at 503.641.1842 or [email protected].
Annual Parish Picnic This fun event is September 9th at 12:30pm here in our cafeteria and grounds. Our Parish Events Ministry always welcomes help and it’s a chance to meet and work with other parishioners. Contact Tim Clark (503.642.5240) or Monette Mallari (503.307.3438).
Blessings to Charles DeCeglie, Leo Moonaw, Kenneth Roy, and Calla Taylor, who were baptized this weekend!
