Greetings from Fr. Dave

Oh boy, August is here! Our school is actively gearing up for the new school year. In talking in our students, most are not even remotely ready to get back! I have witnessed over and over, however, that when they get back with their friends the enthusiasm quickly grows (not so much for homework and getting up early in the mornings though!).

This weekend is the annual Sunday afternoon picnic at Our Lady of Peace Retreat House, right here on TV Highway and 170th. The Sisters do a great job of putting on a fun, family event — food, entertainment, and lots of visiting. I go each year and always get to see many of our parishioners there. If you have never done this, give it a try. Their grounds are lovely, and they are great hostesses!

Last week, funeral services were held for Nick Uyanib. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
