Easter is not over yet! We had 40 days for Lent and now we have 50 days for Easter! Now we get to celebrate the Good News so that the beautiful truth of our faith sinks in!
The Sunday readings are all from the New Testament most especially as we hear from the Acts of the Apostles, the stories of the early Church. Consider reading the entire book of Acts and learn about the Apostles and first Christian followers. We can let these heroic stories inspire our own faith and discipleship.
Frankly, we live in a hostile world for Christians, even today. We have the recent example of the terror attack in Sri Lanka on Easter morning, and the martyred children, pictured below, killed by terrorists on their First Communion day. This doesn’t include the others injured and killed in this senseless and evil attack.
We pray for the victims and their families. May these holy innocents pray for us and our world, and may they inspire us to live and stand up as Catholic Christians in this world of ours. Amen +
