Labor Day Weekend, 2020! Sure wonder what life will look like come Thanksgiving. With so much uncertainty and so many unknowns facing us, we can only let go and put our trust in God. Geepers, what do people without faith in God do?
Hope is the virtue that keeps us rooted; hope counters the fear that is inevitable in times like this. Holy Trinity has always broadcasted hope by being a welcoming, inclusive, and mission-driven parish.
Knowing Jesus personally,
Growing in that relationship, and
Going forth is exactly what we are about, and precisely how Hope is broadcast. Keep it up, good people.
Okay, elections coming up………and the divisions and rhetoric are increasing. I read a good quote last week about political speeches: “Political speeches are like antlers on an elk, a point here and a point there, and a lot of bull in-between.”
I encourage you to read an article posted on our
Faithful Citizenshipwebpage, titled “Trump or Biden: What’s a Catholic Voter to do?”. It is not going to tell you how to vote, but does acknowledge the difficulty in choosing between two candidates, neither of which align fully with our Catholic values.
Remember, we are not electing a Messiah! Jesus is fully in that role, and in every election we have had to choose between flawed candidates. What the Church does ask of us is that we take voting seriously and do all we can to make a good decision. Come Holy Spirit and guide us.
With school starting Tuesday, we are resuming our Wednesday School Mass. It will only be open for the hosting class and their families, though, not the general public.
Blessings to Mason Neeway, who were baptized this weekend!
Funeral services were held last week for John Fallin, and last week we received notice of the death of Elizabeth Knapp. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
