Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms! Blessings to you for all you do, will do, and have done to nurture each of us. May your day be filled with appreciation, encouragement, and gratitude.
If you use the votive candles in the side chapel you notice we have replaced the stand with electronic candles. This is happening in churches across the country and has been the norm in Europe for years. In addition to the safety factor of not having burning candles, it is also an ecological issue. We are unable to recycle the safety glass on the wax candles meaning they end up in the garbage — and we go through a lot of them! The new ones are easy to use, do not make smoke, and do not require adding to our landfills. Instructions are posted near the candles. No matches are needed!
Our school is putting on their spring musical next weekend:
Children of Eden, Jr. Just so you know, Fr. Hans is playing the role of GOD in the production and is doing a superb job. He has been practicing with the students and of course memorizing his own part. It’s impressive. Performances are at 7:00pm in the gym on May 17
th and 18
th. (No need to call him Fr. God from here on………)
FIRE DANGER. We had three fires in bark dust last year, and one this year already — all from cigarettes. Please be cautious here and elsewhere!
Congratulations and blessings to Isaac Bell, Evelyn Hanson, Adeline Klocke, Amanze Obialor, and Elena Pavelek, who were baptized this weekend!
Funeral services are scheduled for Richard Armony for Monday, May 13
th, at 11:00am. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
