Getting back to basics. The holidays are over, and we are back in Ordinary Time. I am beginning to revel in the ordinariness of things, hunkering down into the cozy familiarity of a holy routine! The goodies are gone, the sparkly things are all put away and now we can simply rest with the comfortable companionship of Jesus. He still just wants to be with us.

This week, we are showcasing our parish school as Catholic Schools’ Week begins. Here’s a few facts for you: we have 308 students in our school, pre-K through 8th grade. Our student body reflects the diversity of our parish and in addition includes 30 students who are not Catholic.

Is your Christmas stuff all down? Officially the Christmas Season ended last weekend with the Baptism of the Lord, but culturally it ended on the afternoon of the Christmas Day! Oh well…….perhaps we should be grateful that the Season begins immediately after Halloween!
