All children grades K-5 are welcome to attend with their families. Unlike RE classes in the past, parents cannot drop their children off. We would love to see entire families attend, but, at the very least, children must be accompanied by one parent. Our goal is to provide a catechesis geared towards the family, with formation opportunities that span grades K-5.
We will meet on Sundays at 3:00pm in the main church at Holy Trinity.
Social Distancing
If you are not able to attend our in-person R.E. gatherings that begin on Feb. 21, here are some ways to continue your child's faith formation at home:
1.) Ally and I are continuing our weekend video reflection as an online alternative to the in-person gathering. You can watch it below.
2.) Join us for online Mass each weekend, live streamed at 5:30pm on Saturday and 9:30am on Sunday.
3.) Read the weekly family faith reflection together — usually, a quick story of an interesting saint or a little look backward at important moments in Church history.
4.) Make time for daily prayer as a family. If that's new to your family, then start simple - a Lord's Prayer first thing in the morning and again at bedtime. Institute the blessing prayer before meals. Or take it up a notch and teach your family the Angelus prayer (the Angelus is a noontime prayer and nicely breaks up the monotony of the day).
5.) Pick up a religious education textbook for your child's grade level. Holy Trinity will be happy to give you one! We have books available from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Email Ally if you'd like to take one home.
Please keep an eye on the bulletin each week for updates, and feel free to send me an email if you have any questions.
Catechism is more than just learning the facts of the Catholic religion! Our program has six goals:
Understanding the Catholic faith
Appreciating community worship (Mass and sacraments)
Forming moral values
Praying in a variety of styles
Participating in the church community
Serving the world (mission and ministry)
Our catechist team works hard to make our classes fun, faithful, and useful to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Older students should visit the youth ministry page for information about middle-school and high-school programs.
