Catholic Charities of Oregon is expecting to resettle 200 refugee families this spring and summer in partnership with the Refugee Care Collective. Refugees arrive in Oregon with few possessions, and have to quickly build their lives again. Since 2015, the Refugee Care Collective has delivered over 6,200 Restart Kits thanks to more than 200 local groups and communities who give so generously to our refugee neighbors.
Restart Kits are plastic tubs filled with essential household items. Also provided are gift cards to Fred Meyer and Target for future needs. These seemingly insignificant kits are a meaningful way to extend love and care to newly arriving families. You can build a Restart Kit any time during the year and RSVP to drop it off at their warehouse on an upcoming Collection Day or schedule a separate drop-off time with them directly.
