The USDA Farmers to Families program is partnering with local and regional distributors like the Pacific Coast Fruit Company, who in turn partner with organizations like the Archdiocese of Portland to supply fresh produce, dairy, and protein products to those in need, helping to keep food waste minimized, farms and businesses running, and families fed.
There is no required sign-up, qualification process, or cost to get a box. You can pick up boxes for multiple families and you can come every week.
Food Boxes will be available every Thursday starting at 9:00am. You'll stay in your car while members of Holy Trinity's Knights of Columbus and youth volunteers from Beaverton Foursquare load the box(es) into the trunk of your vehicle, following CDC guidance on maintaining physical distance and wearing protective equipment.
Need/want a box but can't come out on Thursdays? There are other locations in the area distributing these boxes throughout the week, and the schedule is updated weekly.
Each food box typically contains a combination of a variety of produce/fruits, dairy products, fluid milk, and precooked meat, similar to what is pictured here. Each box weighs approximately 20–25 pounds (dimensions are 16x12x10).
